Form Filling a PDF (C# and VB.NET)

C# and VB.NET code for filling in existing form fields within a PDF document. Values can come directly from a database or be collected from the user. But filling in the form fields will preserve the formatting of the fields that exist on the original PDF.

C# Code:
1: MergeDocument document =  new MergeDocument(@"C:\Fill Form Fields.pdf");
3: // Set the field values
4: document.Form.Fields["TextBox1"].Value = "My Text"; // TextBox field
5: document.Form.Fields["CheckBox1"].Value = "Yes"; // CheckBox field
6: document.Form.Fields["ComboBox1"].Value = "Item4"; // ComboBox field
7: document.Form.Fields["RadioButton1"].Value = "Item2"; // RadioButton field
9: // Save the PDF
10: document.Draw(@"C:\Filled Output.pdf");
VB.NET Code:
1: Dim MyDocument As MergeDocument = New MergeDocument("C:\Fill Form Fields.pdf")
3: ' Set the field values
4: MyDocument.Form.Fields("TextBox1").Value = "My Text" ' TextBox field
5: MyDocument.Form.Fields("CheckBox1").Value = "Yes" ' CheckBox field
6: MyDocument.Form.Fields("ComboBox1").Value = "Item4" ' ComboBox field
7: MyDocument.Form.Fields("RadioButton1").Value = "Item2" ' RadioButton field
9: ' Save the PDF
10: MyDocument.Draw("C:\Filled Output.pdf")

Performance was a major consideration during the development of DynamicPDF Merger for .NET. The techniques used to parse and manage the imported data are extremely fast and well designed. Only the data required in the output document is parsed and commonly used documents or pages can be stored as static variable to eliminate repeated parsing of the same data. This results in extremely fast performance. Take a look at the examples page for some performance statistics. There are no external dependencies and the only thing required to use the product is one of the supported .NET Frameworks. Currently this product supports .NET Frameworks 2.0, 3.5 & 4.x.

Customer Quote
Title Line

I have a preference in using your product rather than Crystal specifically due to the look of your product over the look of Crystal Reports and especially due to the customer service we have received. Phenomenal is an understatement.
