DynamicPDF Converter for .NET (v1) Forum

Hi Experts,

We use Converter in Dynamics Nav 2013, the following line of code gets stuck, it can't get through to next line of code, nor times out (kept loading, waited for more than 20 minutes tried to see if there was any response but still kept loading):

Converter.Convert(Source, Output);

Well, to explain more about what we're facing, in fact,
1. it works in a machine installing both the Dynamics Nav Client and Server in the single physical machine.
2. The above mentioned situation is occurring in another environment that runs Dynamics Nav Client and Server in separate physical machine. Do you've any advice? TQ

Hello,

The DynamicPDF Converter has additional software requirements in order to convert certain supported file types to PDF. For example if you are converting MS Office documents to PDF then you will need to have the MS Office 2010 x86 edition of software and DynamicPDF Converter products installed on the machine where in the conversions are running. Please refer to the documentation on operating system requirements and limitations here.

If you continue seeing the similar behaviour even after having all the prerequisites installed on the machine then send over the following details to support@cete.com so we can look into it further.

1.Code sample or project using which we can recreate the behaviour.
2.Sample input file using which you are seeing this behaviour.
3.Operating System details: Name, x86 or x64.
4.MS Office details: Version, x86 or x64 (if you are converting any MS Office file types to PDF).
5.Version of Internet Explorer which is installed locally (in case you are converting HTML or URL to PDF).
6.Are you able to convert simple text or images (JPEG or PNG) to PDF?
7.Version and build number of the DynamicPDF Converter for .NET DLL file. You can get this information in DLL references properties (Version and Descriptions fields) in Visual Studio.

Thanks,

TQ

Yeah, we do not put in Office 2010.

By the way, in another machine that I mentioned it's working though it may be cases I have not tested thoroughly, the environment is with:
- Windows 7
- Office 2016 (latest version come in Office 365)

Could it be possible your this product actually is well supported in Office 2016 (and in most of the OS copy)?

We do not intend to bundle our release with Office 2010; If it can be supported with latest Office, it may be fine.

Could you please check out? TQ

Hello,

As of now the DynamicPDF Converter supports MS Office 2010 (32-bit edition) for MS Office file conversions. The higher versions of MS Office are not officially supported and if you have these higher versions installed then the conversions may or may not work hence it is suggested to have the supported MS Office installed on the machine where in the conversions are running.

Currently our developers are looking into supporting the newer versions of MS Office. Support for newer versions may most likely be included in a future version of Converter but we do not have any exact time line on this.

Thanks,
