DynamicPDF Converter for .NET (v1) Forum

We are noticing that the converter is taking more than 3 seconds to convert images. We have on an average 70 files per document that we need to merge into a PDF. It is taking 3-4 minutes per document. What are the ways in which we can speed this up? We are using Converter 1.x.Can we configure the Converter to use more threads?
. We are mostly calling Converter.Convert with some image size options to convert Tiff, JPEG and other types supported by the converter. Also, the combined original size of the files is 10 MB. Once all images are converted and merged, the output PDF is 70 MB. Anything we can do to minimize it?

Thanks,
Satya

Hello Satya,

With Converter, 3-5 seconds of conversion time per document is typical because the process involves multiple components (dll, service & print driver). It also depends on the resources available at the time of conversion and the content of the document being converted. You may try converting the files
asynchronously to see if that helps. When you use asynchronous methods, please keep in mind that the window service can process the file asyncronously but the printer driver can only process one file at a time.

Regarding the file size increase issue, please email us support@dynamicpdf.com a couple of sample TIFF and jpeg images for which you are noticing an increase in size after conversion to PDF.
