DynamicPDF ReportWriter for .NET (v4) Forum

Is there a way using DynamicPDF for me to read in an existing PDF form and fill in its fields with data from a database? I have a project with a PDF form that has hundreds of fields and I don't want to recreate it using the designer or programmatically.

The DynamicPDF™ Merger does not appear to be capable of inserting data into an existing PDF. It just merges PDFs. And the DynamicPDF Designer does not allow me to add database fields into an existing PDF.

Hello,

You can definitely use our DynamicPDF Merger for .NET product to take an existing PDF document with form fields and fill them with data from the database. Our Merger for .NET product does have the ability to do form filling. Once you download the evaluation version, please refer to the AcroFormFill example included with the download that shows this functionality.

What about the other way around, I can read back data the user has entered in the PDF so I can store it in the database table?

Hi,

Yes, you can read the form field values as well. Here is a link to a help topic that shows how to do this:
