DynamicPDF Generator for COM/ActiveX (v3) Forum

Hi,

We have been using DynamicPDF for COM v3 for a few years now and have recently started receiving the following error message when making a call to Addimage:

"Invalid file path specified or Parameters not specified properly".

Some of the images we are trying to add are between 500KB to 1MB.

Are there any known issues which would help us identify what is causing the error?

Is there any debug info that can be turned on to help identify the problem?

Thanks in advance.
Just adding to the previous post:

The error does not happen consistently, the system can run without problem for several days, then the error starts happening and doesn’t go away again until the application pool has been recycled.

There doesn’t appear to be any one document that we are creating that causes the issue, the same document can exhibit the error and then work fine after the recycling. A trace of memory on the server doesn’t show any problems.

We have not been able to reproduce the issue on our test system even though this holds the same code and the same images to be included in the documents.

Hello,

We have not seen this kind of behavior earlier. Is this error coming when using a specific image or in any specific environment? Are you getting the path of the image dynamically in code? If so please make sure that the path is correct. Also check for the parameters you are using in the AddImage method if you are getting them dynamically. Please double check the code if you are not getting proper path or parameters in any specific conditions which might be causing a problem some times.

We will need the images, code and any other resources you are using to generate the PDF in order to troubleshoot this issue. We will have to recreate it at our end. Please send over the necessary files and code to our Support Team so that they can look into it further. Also on what OS are you seeing the problem?

Thanks,
ceTe Software Support Team.
I have the same error with some of the jpeg images i get from our customers.

What I did to solve this was open up the images and saved it again.

For a unknown reason some images can't be read by COM/ActiveX component and this error appers. I'm not a jpeg expers but their images is around 50-60kb and after I saved it the size is around 23kb. So some what they save it different might be without compression?

If you understand jpeg format better then me i can mail you a version that don't work and you can look at it.

Regards,
Magnus

Oh one more thing it is v5.0 we are using. Sorry missed I was in a v3.0 forum.

Regards,
Magnus
