Check PDF is password protected?

Hi All,

As a part of our requirement, we need to check whether a PDF falls in following category:

1. Check whether PDF file is password protected
2. Check whether PDF file has any signature
3. Check whether PDF file is locked for editing

Does anyone try same ever? Any help is highly appreciated.

Currently it is not possible to check whether the PDF is password protected using our DynamicPDF Merger for .NET product. We will add this feature request to our wish list and we may add this to our future version of DynamicPDF for .NET API but we do not have any exact time line on it.

It is not possible to check whether the existing PDF has signature using our DynamicPDF for .NET API.

Regarding your third requirement, please give us following information so that we can look into it further.

1.Do you want to check for file lock (whether it is being used by some other process in your system)?
2.Do you want to check whether the PDF editing (in a PDF editor) is restricted or not?

Thanks for information. It is not possible to check whether the PDF is restricted for editing with PDF editors using our DynamicPDF for .NET product.

Hello,

The feature to check PDF security has been included in the recently released v8 of DynamicPDF for .NET.

Starting from v8, the PdfDocument object contains SecurityInfo property that can be used to check whether the PDF is secured or not.

If you have already purchased a license for v8, it can be downloaded from t he customer area. If not an evaluation version is available here.
