The Dynamic PDF convertor service is running under localsystem account, but when trying to convert a word 2003 or 2007 document I am getting an error that the service is not running under "Interactive mode", then I changed the service to run "Allow Service to Interact with desktop" (by checking the checkbox under local system). after this I get an exception while converting like this.

Hello,

Can you please try converting text files and let us know if it worked or not? Also what version of office do you have installed on that computer that has the DynamicPDF Converter installed? Please follow this link on all the file conversion requirements for the Converter.

Thanks,

Yes, I can convert text files into PDF.
After doing a bit of research, this is what I found out...
I had to run the cete service as LocalSystem and run the service in desktop interaction mode and give Ms Word Com service Identity to refer Launching user and it worked.
but my requirment is that Com Identiity should be run on a user that we have created.

I tried creating a user and adding him has the Word COM identity and running the Cete service from that user, but now there is no way for me to configure the "Interact with Desktop mode".

Isn't it possible to run Cete Service without "desktop interaction" mode?

Can you please help me out on this?.

Hello,

The cete DynamicPDF Converter service has to run under LocalSystem account and with the  desktop interaction mode turned on. It cannot run under any other account. As long as you have the Converter service running with above setting and the correct version of MS Word installed based on the file conversion requirements link we posted earlier you should not have a problem converting word documents. You do not need to change anything else.

Thanks,

Hello,

As of now the DynamicPDF Converter supports MS Office 2010 (32-bit edition) for MS Office file types conversions. Please refer to the documentation on supported file types and software requirements here and also the documentation on operating system requirements and limitations here.

Hi,
I am also getting the same error. Converter service is running in local account and desktop mode. I have both ms word 2010 and ms word 2016 installed my computer and getting the same error.

Is there anything you could help?

Hello,

The DynamicPDF Converter product uses locally installed MS Office software to convert supported MS Office document to PDF. It looks like the MS Word instance is not responding correctly when the DynamicPDF Converter service tries to invoke it dynamically and hence it is throwing “MS Word instance not found” error.

You may want to uninstall both MS Office 2010 and 2016 from the system and install the supported MS Office 2016 32-bit software on the machine where Word to PDF conversions are running. This should work for you. Please refer to the documentation on operating system requirements and limitations here.

Thanks,
