Hello,

I need to write code
- that checks if alle fonts used in a document are (subset) embedded
- (subset) embed the missing fonts
Can I do this with DynamicPDF Merger?

Thanks for your support

Hello Nicolas,

It is not possible to check if the font added is subset embedded or not programmatically. You can check the embedded fonts in the properties of the PDF document after opening the PDF in the Adobe Reader.

All the TrueType, OpenType and Type1 fonts added using our product are subset embedded. You can refer to the fonts on help documentation.

Thanks,

Hello again

So, this means, that at least one of the following two actions is not supported by DynamicPDF Merger:

1. List all the fonts used in an existing document
2. List all the fonts embedded in an existing document

Are there plans to add this kind of support in a future version? Checking for embedded fonts is a typical requirement in a PDF/A workflow.

Hello Nicolas,

That is correct, there is currently no way to check for #1 or #2 above on an existing PDF. This can only be controlled when creating a PDF from scratch using Generator.

We do have plans to add this in the future, but this work has not been scheduled, so it is difficult to say when it will be available.

Thanks,
