DynamicPDF Generator for .NET (v3 and older) Forum

We have downloaded your toolkit. Here is what we are trying to do.  But not sure if it is the right way.

Our client has forms with sections that will repeat. For example there can be 1-99 number of persons,1-3 images, and 1-99 locations. Not all the forms will have repeating section. But we have to build the software to handle it. Because of this we can not use a standard Adobe template for the whole form. We may have to develop templates for each section and merge them with  ImportedPageArea. Here is what we think the process can be. Please let us know if it was tried by anyone before. Are there any issues in merging this way? Size etc.

1) Create a seperate Adobe template for each section.
2) parse the data and generate separate PDF files for each section of the form using templates.
3) Use ImportedPageArea with ClipBottom and ClipTop calls to combine the PDF files generated in the previous section into document pages. We have to build a lot of intelligence figure out how many files should be combined into one page.

Thanks for the help.

Hello SV,

I am not aware of anyone doing this exact process but from what you have described I do not see any reason that you would run into problems.  The key here will be keeping track of where you are curretnly on the page so that you will know if the next section will fit on the current page or whether you should start a new page.

Please continue with your evaluation and let us know if any specific questions arise.

Thanks,
