Hi,

I just installed the Dynamic Converter V2, and tried the sample application.
The Excel file hangs (never finish, no errors).

OS:  windows 10 64bit
Office: MSO 2016 - 32bit
IDE: MS VS 2017
DynamicPDF Convertor: v2.3.0.40173

The documents are the samples.

Please help,

Tony

Hello,

Please note that the Office documents may hang during conversion due to model dialogs which needs to be closed before proceeding. In general, DynamicPDF Converter closes such dialogs automatically but there are certain dialogs where a choice needed to be made and it requires user intervention.

A PDF that includes troubleshooting steps can be downloaded here. Please try these steps and see if they work for you.

Also, make sure to change the temp file path entry in the DynamicPDF.Converter.Service.exe.config file as mentioned in the PDF and restart the DynamicPDF Converter service. You can find the DynamicPDF.Converter.Service.exe.config file in C:\Program Files (x86)\DynamicPDF Converter v2.xx for .NET\Service folder by default.

Hello,

I followed the steps and make sure no dialog popups. But Excel still hangs
I've tried both options - running the service using my own account and System account.

Anything else have to be checked?

Thanks,

Tony

Hello Tony,

Please make sure to update the MS Excel software. Once it is completed, open the problematic Excel file and make sure to close all the pop dialogs accordingly.

Also, please double check the troubleshooting steps provided in the PDF file.

If you continue getting the same behavior then please send over the following information to support@dynamicpdf.com so we can look into it further.

1.        Excel files using which the conversion hangs.
2.        Code sample used for conversion.
3.        Are you seeing this behavior with a specific Excel file?
4.        Are you able to convert Text file or an image (JPEG or PNG). If not tried then please convert a text and image file and let us know the results.
5.        Exact version and build number of the DynamicPDF Converter product used in the application. You can get this information in DLL references properties (Version and Description fields) in Visual Studio.
6.        MS Office details installed on the machine where in the conversions are running: Version, x86 or x64.
7.        Operating system details where in you are seeing this behavior: Name, x86 or x64.

Thanks,

Hi,

Finally the excel file go through on the office2016 installation. All docs and txts worked from day 1.

I wonder if it also run with Office 365. When I try it on a computer with Office365, I got the following exception:
{"failed: ceTe.DynamicPDF.Conversion.ConverterException: Read Error :109:The pipe has been ended\r\n   at s.a(IntPtr A_0)\r\n   at w.b(Object A_0)"}

Thanks,

Tony

Hello Tony,

Great, glad you got it working.

We recommend using the 32-bit version of MS Office 2016. You can refer to the operating system requirements and limitations here.

Office 365 is not officially supported yet.

Thanks,
