DynamicPDF CoreSuite for .NET (v7) Forum

Hi,

I have problem printing a PDF-document with barcode. The document is created with DynamicPDF Generator.

1. Printing the document to file and open the file in Acrobat reader the barcode is correct and when printed the barcode is correct.
2. Open the same file with an other PDF reader, PDF-XChange Viewer, the barcode looks OK, but when printed the barcode is incorrect.
3. Creating the document and printing it with DynamicPDF Print Manager, the barcode is incorrect. It looks the same as printed with PDF-XChange Viewer.

This is when the PDF-document is printed on an ordinary printer, Sharp MX-2600N. Printing to a label printer Zebra or Brother the barcode is correct.

So it looks like the Sharp printer driver (Post Script) can't handle the barcode font and that Acrobat does some thing (an image?) to handle this.

Question 1: Is this known problem, with some printers having problem rendering the barcode correct?

Questin 2: Is there a way to embedd the barcode font in the document?

Question 3: Any other idea how to solve this problem, except converting the document to an image, which I'm allready aware of?

Hi,

I changed the driver for the Sharp MX-2600N to PCL and now the barcodes are correct when the document is printed. So that's good.

But it's not that great that Post Script driver isn't working, I don't want to rely on that the correct driver is installed.

So I still wounder if there is a solution for this. Perhaps the only way to be absolutely sure is to convert the barcode to an image. It would be great if I could get just the barcode in my PDF as an image and not having to convert the whole PDF to an image.

Hello,

Regarding printing the barcode in the generated PDF correctly, please send over the following details to support@cete.com so that we can look into it further.

1.Exact version and build number of the DynamicPDF DLL file used in your application. You can get this information on DLL references properties (Version and Description fields) in Visual Studio.
2.Input PDF used for printing (Generated using our Generator API).
3.Printer outputs (scanned copies displaying barcode correctly and incorrectly).
4.Code sample used to generate the PDF (to add the barcode to the PDF).
5.Code used to send the PDF for  printing using PrintManager API.

Thanks,
