DynamicPDF CoreSuite for .NET (v8) Forum

Hello Team,

We are currently evaluating your product for our application development. We would need to fill/ modify the existing PDF form contents. We do have texts/data that may not fit desired PDF field and doesn't want to truncate. However, we noticed that by assigning value of 0 to FormField.FontSize the system tried to do auto fit by reducing font size automatically. But it doesn't let me to set any base font size to start with. surprisingly also the system chooses and starts the font size arbitrarily from 12/10.5 /8.5.

Can you please confirm, if there are properties where i can set default font size and also system will try to auto fit by reducing font size when the text is bigger ?

Hello,

Once you set the default font size for TextField with some value (other than zero) the text will be displayed with that font size in the PDF viewers. There is no property or method in DynamicPDF API using which you can set default font size and then auto fit the text by reducing the font size when the text is bigger.

Thanks,
ceTe Software Support Team.

Thanks for your reply. I do have one more question  here

While we do assign value of 0(Zero) to FormField.FontSize the system tried to do auto fit but the base font size is arbitrarily  starts ranging 12/10.5 /8.5.

is there any option where we can have a consistent base font size or it depends or  PDF forms structure and fields layout

Hello,

When you set the font size to zero with our API, the resulting auto font resizing behavior you are seeing in the PDF viewer is most likely a feature of that PDF viewer. With our API, it is not possible to assign a base font size for the form field. Also please note that there is no property or method available in DynamicPDF API using which you can make the form field to resize font automatically and/or specify a base font size for auto resizing.

Thanks,
