Use Text Encodings in PDFs
Using text encoding to specify alternate encodings for text in a PDF using DynamicPDF Core Suite for .NET is straightforward. The following C# example illustrates.
How to Use Text Encoding
The following steps and C# sample code illustrates encoding a PDF using document using DynamicPDF Core Suite for .NET.
Steps for Using Text Encoding in a PDF Document
- Create a
Document
object. - Create a
Page
object and add it to theDocument
instance. - Create a core font with a specified encoding.
- Use the font to create a
TextArea
page element and specify the font and other necessary parameters. - Add the
Draw
method to output the PDF document.
Note: The sample C# code illustrates using Czech with and without specifying encoding.
Sample Code - C#
Document document = new Document();
Page page = new Page();
document.Pages.Add(page);
string czech = "Tohle je textová zpráva, která říká: Ahoj, jak se máš?";
Font fnt1 = new Helvetica(Encoder.CentralEurope);
page.Elements.Add(new TextArea(czech, 0, 0, 300, 12, fnt1, 12));
page.Elements.Add(new TextArea(czech, 0, 20, 300, 12, Font.Helvetica, 12));
document.Draw("output.pdf");
